JingDong Reached A Strategic With Fartech

On June 22, 2017, Farfetch announced reached a strategic cooperation with Jingdong group in China; Jingdong invested $397 million to Farfetch. Jingdong group chairman of the board and CEO Liu Qiangdong will join Farfetch board.

After Jingdong investment, Farfetch and Jingdong will cooperate in marketing, logistics, technology and other aspects with Jingdong, combine large data resources and social media resources (including cooperation with WeChat). And set up an automated marketing system in the Chinese, to further improve the Farfetch in China market brand awareness, traffic and sales performance. At the same time, it will also help brands and buyers on the Farfetch platform to enter the Chinese luxury market.

But for the Jingdong, invest to Farfetch which has more than 700 brands and buyers shop resources, will help Jingdong to further the force of high-end luxury goods industry, and have the opportunity to work with many international luxury brands and designer brand on Farfetch.

Farfetch was founded in 2008 by Portuguese Jose Neves in Britain, is known as the online platform for the most luxury items in the world". The Farfetch site supports 9 language versions, selling about 1000000 items, more than 1000 brands, and businesses in 190 countries.

This is the good new for Chinese customers, the customers in China can buy the luxury brands more convenient. Also that means select shop is more and more popular in China.
