Michael Kors announced that it has agreed to acquire luxury shoemaker for approximately $ 1.2 billion, increasing the global brand stability of a co American retailer and affecting the sales of their handbags and accessories.
The acquisition will bring Michael Kors new ways of international development and become a foothold in the luxury footwear market. Michael Kors, Honorary Chairman and Chief Creative Officer, said in a statement: "We appreciate the captivating style and style of Jimmy Choo's design, and many upscale brands like Michael Kors face an unstable decline in sales and profits. The transport industry has been declining significantly, while so-called middle market customers have tended to extreme brand styles and price ranges.
“Acquiring Jimmy Choo is the beginning of a strategy that we have for building a luxury group that really is focused on international fashion brands,” John D. Idol, the chairman of Michael Kors Holdings, said.
I think this is a new way of Michael Kors to develop it business. I suggest Michael Kors and Jimmy Choo can cooperate a new series for shoes. This can attract more customer to buy it and know these two brands.
